Forgejo

Forgejo - Beyond coding. We forge.

The project summary for this project is not yet available. Please come back soon!

Why does this actually matter to end users?

Improve Forgejo: git LFS, forging without forking, accessibility, etc.

rate 60 per hour

After initially underwhelming plan, they submitted a new proposal which we swapped in. (old proposal now at 2025-04-412)

Capacity building: introducing new developers to the Forgejo ecosystem.

"Leftover budget that is not claimed by primary contributors will be taken by Codeberg e.V. to further sustain the Forgejo maintenance." That is not possible. We work on cost-recovery basis.

Main features: git LFS, forging (i.e. pushing changes to repo without need for forking), and accessibility

Forging without forking would be great, though possibly more effort than estimated here.

"Accessible theming (140 hours)" sounds like much effort; also not clear to what extent this will use/create neat theming, allowing colour themes separate from code; would it make custom themes easier? Also general accessibility review with HAN could be combined into this task.

One question to perhaps raise still: How much work is shared with Gitea; any parts contributed there, also to help sharing code later?

Run by Codeberg e.V.
