Maintainer funds

There are load-bearing leadership and maintenance roles in the free and open source community that we believe deserve structural support. We are currently bootstrapping our first fund to deliver such support, the Rust Maintainer Fund — together with RustNL and Commons Caretakers.

This is a new type of effort for us, and we are raising funds from interested stakeholders. Please see the dedicate page on the Rust Maintainer Fund for more information. If you are interest to set up a similar fund for other efforts, please contact us.

It is not yet possible to apply for grants or stipends — first we need to accumulate enough budget to make anything possible. Please do have look at our active programmes — hopefully at least some part of your plans also fits within existing programmes, although obviously we would not seek to establish this new fund if it wasn't complementary.
