Read and write OpenAccess files
Commercial CAE programs still dominate the community that designs electronic circuits. One of the most widely used file format in the space uses the OpenAccess API controlled by Si2. Unfortunately, this API is available only for members of the OpenAccess coalition. This project aims at creating open-source tooling for reading and writing OpenAccess files. Their internal data structure will be investigated by reverse engineering. Then, routines will be created that make it easy to import and export OpenAccess files in open-source programs like circuit simulators, layout programs etc. This makes it possible to exchange schematics, component symbols and layouts between libre and proprietary/legacy EDA applications.
