Ronny Lam

Ronny joined NLnet in October 2022. He has been consulting in Unix, Networking and Open Source since 1998. First as an employee and later self-employed. Ronny has been with the NLUUG since 1998, where he has been in the programming commitee since 2010 and a board-member since 2019. He has been in the board of APELL since 2021 and has founded the Dutch Open Source Business Alliance (DOSBA) in 2025.

NLnet prefers to run its systems on FOSS. Jos and Ronny are currently the admin team that keeps our servers running. This involves NextCloud, Nginx, GitLab, Prosody, Dovecot, Prometheus and, very important, backups with Borg.

Besides that Ronny is involved with the partners of NGI0, organizes a webinar or a podcast once in a while and helps to take on the reporting burden of the funding programmes.

NLnet is the Coordinator of the Fediversity project. It is Ronny's goal to deliver this is a succesful project and make FOSS and the Fediverse easy accessible to more and more people.
