pdsink
Modern USB Power Delivery Sink Library for Embedded Devices
pdsink is an open-source USB Power Delivery sink stack for embedded devices. USB-C power is everywhere, yet there is no open, reusable and complete implementation of the USB PD sink side. Existing options are proprietary or binary-only vendor middleware, code tied to a single controller or framework, or partial implementations of older revisions. pdsink fills this gap with a lightweight, auditable stack implementing USB PD 3.2, including AVS. The timing is good: PD 3.2 chargers are now reaching the market. pdsink's protocol core is hardware-independent, and it already runs in a real product. The project will harden the core with tests based on the USB-IF CTS. It will also add support for widely used hardware: microcontrollers with built-in USB PD (STM32G, WCH CH32) and external PD controllers. Each driver will be developed and validated on a dedicated open development board. This will make it much easier for hardware developers to adopt modern USB PD in their own products.
