libLISA
Tool to improve x86 (dis)assemblers, Emulators and Binary Translators
libLISA is a tool that can fully automatically analyze an x86-64 CPU and infer instruction semantics. This project aims to use the semantics produced by libLISA to improve the accuracy of binary analysis tools, such as disassemblers and emulators, by finding bugs in the instruction semantics they use. We will extend libLISA to x86-32 and x86-16, build verification tools to compare the semantics in binary analysis tools against those produced by libLISA's analysis, and run this verification on several popular open-source binary analysis tools. We will investigate any discrepancies found, and contribute patches for bugs we identify.
