Git-backed remoteStorage for web apps
This project enables web apps to use Git forge repositories as a backend, enabling data versioning and various integrations with CI systems or workflows; file edits on your local machine can sync to client-side web apps. Self-hosting instances for your community is made simple with packages for one-click panels like Cloudron, Caprover, and Coolify, and an admin UI for adding accounts; instance admins don't need to maintain data custody, as people bridge external data and can swap servers any time. The remoteStorage API and client library both simplify sync for browser apps running as static sites. This project aims to integrate Dropbox, Google Drive, iCloud Drive, self-hosted Forgejo, Git over HTTPS, and tangled.sh; simplify first-time setup and 'bring your own credentials'; package for Easypanel, SelfPrivacy, YunoHost, and Co-op Cloud; and build bot signup guards to support an open-access community server and all self-hosted instances.
