Windkit
Open hardware wind turbine
In a context of geopolitical instability and climate challenges, with fossil fuels costs skyrocketing and energy grids struggling to meet an ever-increasing demand, renewable local energy production is not just a nice to have, but a sane path forward. Windkit is an open-hardware wind turbine, which could empower communities to take control of their local energy production and supplement classic energy sources. In the scope of this project, the team will improve the prototype towards regulatory compliance and streamline the design so it can be repaired and locally manufactured. Nominal power will be scaled up to 1kw, in order to be able to power decentralized internet infrastructure and off-grid community nodes.
