TRDP_SDR

Development Platform for Software Defined Radio

This project extends the existing open-source Tronex Radio Development Platform (TRDP) Software Defined Radio (SDR) by developing new hardware and gateware and software modules, with the ultimate goal of making a generic, cheap, and flexible SDR board available to makers, researchers, and amateur radio operators for experimentation. A generic six slot expansion carrier board will allow to make use of among others a GPS Module (to support GNSS systems like Galileo, GLONASS and GPS), an SDR module utilizing the AD936X chip (offering higher bandwidth than the current modules and a wide frequency range) and a module for the LMS7002M. The project will also port the OpenWiFi stack and an existing GPS Receiver, as well as develop libraries and firmware for SoupySDR and Gnuradio compatibility to the TRDP ecosystem. All gateware developed within this project will be open source and deployable to the Zynq FPGA via the openXC7 open source tool chain.
