802.11 monitoring and AP mode for FreeBSD
LinuxKPI based access point mode support for FreeBSD wireless
The FreeBSD operating system started to use a LinuxKPI compatibility layer to provide station mode support for modern 802.11 hardware. This project will enhance the LinuxKPI compatibility layer to translate between the native net80211 wireless stack and permissively licensed Linux wireless drivers. For one, we will add monitor mode support in order to help technical analysis, debugging, and research; for the other the project will implement basic AP mode filling another gap on the way to a fully permissively licensed, modern wireless stack.
