SCION-IP Gateway & SCION Configuration Tools
Full support for tunneling IP traffic through SCION networks
SCION is an Internet routing technology that allows trusted, highly resilient, and path-aware infrastructures to be built by ISPs, CDN/cloud providers and enterprises. It makes a substantial contribution to the Next Generation Internet by improving trust, data security and privacy, and can help organisations comply with the requirements of NIS2, the EU Cybersecurity Act, DORA and GDPR. The project will deliver a number of improvements and new features to the SCION open source implementation: it will add full support of path policies to the SCION-to-IP Gateway (SIG). This allows Internet devices to tunnel IP traffic through a SCION network and is a critical aspect of supporting SCION adoption. It will also further develop configuration management and automation capabilities to allow SCION hosts to be set-up as end hosts, border routers or control services depending on requirements. And finally it will improve stability of control and data planes.
