Privacy-respecting PIM tool

Personal information management in an isolated Mirage unikerel

Some libre tools for Personal Information Management (PIM) exist, but most users still rely on proprietary hosted services to store their calendars and contacts. Obviously, this is sensitive information and so privacy-respecting, self-hostable alternatives would be preferable. This project develops a MirageOS unikernel, which only contains the pieces strictly necessary - a tiny virtual machine. The strict separation of code and data means updating the code is straightforward, only affects this one unikernel, and can also easily be rolled back. This has significant security benefits: minimal attack surface, memory-safe programming language. It also helps with sustainability, as it uses minimal CPU and memory.
